What is RVTools?
RVTools is a free Windows utility that connects to VMware vCenter or an ESXi host and exports your entire vSphere inventory — virtual machines, hosts, clusters, datastores, snapshots, and virtual disks — into an Excel (.xlsx) workbook. It is the fastest way to get a complete, offline picture of a VMware environment, which is why backup and infrastructure teams rely on it for audits, capacity planning, and health checks.
An RVTools export holds dozens of sheets and hundreds of columns. This analyzer reads it in your browser and turns it into environment summary stats, sortable VM and datastore tables, guest-level capacity from vPartition, coverage-gap reporting, and data-driven hygiene findings — without uploading your inventory anywhere.
